Our Journey – The Pet Pantry

Back in 2005, The Pet Pantry was born from a simple idea: pets deserve better food at a price their families can afford. At the time, the options for truly healthy, high-quality pet food were limited, and many were out of reach for everyday pet parents. We knew there had to be a better way—so we set out to create it.

From the beginning, our mission has been clear: to help pets live happier, healthier lives and to exceed our customers’ expectations in everything we do. That promise has guided every decision we’ve made for nearly two decades.

We’ve never aimed to be the biggest—only the best for our customers and their pets. By growing steadily, year after year, we’ve been able to keep our focus where it matters most: maintaining the highest standards for nutrition and providing the kind of personal service you can only get from a local company that truly cares.

Today, The Pet Pantry proudly serves the Triangle, Triad, and surrounding areas with free home delivery in our own vans—because no one should have to lug heavy bags of food when we can bring it right to your door. For families beyond our local routes, we ship across the continental United States so pets everywhere can enjoy the difference.

Giving back has always been part of who we are. In 2006, we launched our H.E.A.L. program, partnering with dozens of local rescue groups to raise funds and help place adoptable pets into loving homes. Supporting rescues and strengthening the bond between pets and people is woven into the fabric of our story—and it always will be.

As we celebrate 20 years of serving our community, we’re humbled and grateful for every wagging tail, every purr, and every family who’s welcomed us into their lives. The Pet Pantry isn’t just about food in a bowl—it’s about care, connection, and a commitment to pets and their people that has never wavered.

Because when pets are happy and healthy, so are the humans who love them.

Here’s to healthy, happy pets,
Thor
